高一二○線是聯絡內門台廿八線與高一三六線的主要道路，串聯旗山、台南的路網，但去年二月的美濃大地震，造成路段下邊坡土壤掏空，部分擋土牆損壞、排水溝底破損，使得大雨過後，道路路基整個掏空。
新工處指出，高一二○線沿線土層屬泥岩地質，平時堅硬，遇雨則泥濘不堪、阻礙排水，長期導致道路沿線擋土牆變化，造成斷裂或側傾，因此特別增加擋土牆的基樁，確保邊坡結構穩固。
