淡水區淡金路二段上13日發生一起火燒車，46歲陳姓駕駛載滿回收物的貨車，準備前往資源回收廠卸貨，行經淡金路二段停等紅燈時，陳姓駕駛發覺後方有自小客車頻向他按喇叭，停下車對方竟跟他說車斗內回收物有悶燒情形，陳姓駕駛立即將車子停靠淡金路旁，但火勢一發不可收拾，直到消防隊前來拉水線灌救，所幸該起火燒車未造成傷亡。
警方表示，13日中午12時許一輛載滿資源回收物的大貨車，在淡金路二段停紅燈時，車斗竟然就開始冒煙，後方駕駛發現後趕緊按喇叭提醒，陳姓駕駛由照後鏡看到車斗果然冒出濃濃黑煙，趕緊先把車開到一旁，利用車上的怪手將車斗內回收物夾出放置路旁，避免持續悶燒。
但火勢蔓延迅速，這時淡水警分局巡邏警員王健霖及楊凱文行經發現，王員立即向隔壁社區借用滅火器緊急噴灑控制火勢，車斗仍持續悶燒，且發出陣陣濃煙及惡臭，警方一邊疏導淡金路交通，一邊持續利用滅火器控制火勢，等待消防隊救援。
一場突如其來的火燒車事故，雖然回收物幾乎燒毀，所幸沒有造成人員傷亡，而貨車起火原因，仍須待火調人員釐清。
