新北市一名77歲的陳姓老婦人，5日清晨6時許搭乘公車至三重區重新路五段上，下車後欲穿越中央分隔島至對向馬路時，因未注意到來車的狀況，遭到45歲的林姓貨車駕駛閃避不及撞上，警消獲報到場時老婦已無生命跡象，經緊急送醫後仍於6時24分宣告不治。
警方調查，林姓駕駛酒測值為零，並無酒駕情形，經調閱監視器後發現，陳婦在下公車後即徒步要穿越馬路，卻未走在斑馬線上，遭到行駛在內側車道貨車撞上後，整個人遭撞飛約10公尺倒地，現場留有20公尺長的剎車痕跡，警方訊後將林男依照業務過失致死罪嫌送辦。
