〔記者侯承旭／屏東報導〕屏東縣去年的嬰兒出生率為千分之5.79，出生率最高的前5名全部由原住民鄉鎮包辦。
根據屏東縣民政處統計，屏東縣33個鄉鎮市中，去年嬰兒出生率最高的前5名分別是獅子鄉千分之12.66、泰武鄉千分之11.58、瑪家鄉千分之11.54、三地門鄉千分之10.71、春日鄉千分之10.29。上述5個全部是原住民鄉。
去年生育率最低的5個鄉鎮依序是佳冬鄉千分之3.43、麟洛鄉千分之3.60、高樹鄉千分之4.20、內埔鄉千分之4.26、新埤鄉千分之4.33。
若以出生率最高的獅子鄉與最低的佳冬鄉相比，獅子鄉的出生率是佳冬鄉的3.7倍。
值得注意的是，屏東縣原本生育津貼最優渥的里港鄉，前年9月開始調高門檻、降低生育津貼後，去年的出生率僅千分之9.5，與前年的千分之12.18不可同日而語。
